I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Tina Woods the publisher of Natural Awakenings NYC while in New York. She possesses great positive energy and truly wants to help people live a healthier life. Her eclectic background brings a unique quality and authenticity to Natural Awakenings NYC. I asked Tina to share her insights on health, wellness, and living an awakened life with us. Here is Vegan Consultant’s Q & A with Natural Awakenings NYC:
1. Please give us a quick overview of Natural Awakenings NYC?

Natural Awakenings is the leading healthy living, healthy planet community magazine in NYC and across the nation!
2. Where can we find Natural Awakenings NYC publications?
We are a monthly publication that is distribuated the first of every month. Kelly first found our magazine at the popular vegan bakery Whole Earth Bakery & Kitchen in the East Village. Not in NYC? No problem! Check out our online publication Natural Awakenings NYC.
3. What attracted you to publish Natural Awakenings NYC?
I had worked in healthcare for over 10 years and I wanted to intervene with people’s lives to help educate and preserve their health before it was too late.
4. What is your favorite way to stay healthy?
Eating right, staying active and leading an interesting life. Right now, through the magazine, I had been introduced to the health benefits of Latin ballroom dancing and I decided to go for it! It is filling my soul with so much happiness and it’s keeping my body healthy at the same time! Dance With Me Soho, Dance With Me NJ, and Dance With Me LI
5. What advice can you give people who are working towards a healthier life style?
Give your body a chance to lighten up and move…once you do so, you will feel amazing!
6. What is your favorite vegan restaurant or dish?
I have to say right now I am enjoying a simple vegan choc chip cookie! Being raised Italian, I have always loved a little black coffee and cookie. If you can, try a vegan cookie. It is saturated with goodness!
