Following up with yesterday’s post about vegan business ideas, I wanted to talk about social media today. Social media can be a very powerful tool to grow your message or it can be a big headache! I have consulted many business owners some who have worked in the tech industry who are still not on board with social media. Personally, I think social media is an amazing tool and I have launched my website and consulting business primarily using social media.
How to start your social media empire:
Facebook
- Find a fanpage category that best fits your business model
- Use your business name
- Add business logo
- Sign in under your fanpage
- Fill out all “info”
- “Like” other likeminded businesses
- Suggest your fanpage to all of your friends and family
- Post content once a day preferably with a link or picture to allow people to “share”
- Link to other fanpages you like by using the @ sign then the fanpage name
- Post socially responsible decisions made
- Interact with fans
- Great outlet to get feedback, conduct market research and increase customer service
- Stay true to your message!
- Create a twitter account
- Fill out “bio” and include location, website link and logo
- Use simple twitter background
- Follow likeminded businesses, possible consumers, decision makers and bloggers
- Tweet messages with or without link a few times per day. This is your business’ “news feed” and multiple posts per day work best {but too much!}
- Interact with other twitter accounts using the @ sign then the twitter account name
Example: @VeganConsultant What is your favorite type of vegan cheese?
- Suggest twitter accounts you like on Follow Friday
Example: Happy #FF @NaturalVegas @Belsandia @BambooWellness
-
Use hash tags to create better search engine results
Example: Great connecting! Join me on FB for more #vegan #eco #animalrights #entrepreneur goodness : ) http://www.facebook.com/VeganConsultant
- When posting website links you MUST use http://www.
- Retweet messages you like posted by other accounts
- Post socially responsible decisions made
- Interact with fans
- Great outlet to get feedback, conduct market research and increase customer service
- Stay true to your message!
Hope these tips serve you well!
Thanks for the good info.
