McDonalds drops Sparboe Farms as egg supplier

In case you didn’t hear over the weekend Mercy For Animals’ undercover investigation is sending waves through McDonalds and other huge corporations. After MFA’s report became public of the cruelty and unsanitary conditions of Sparboe Farms, McDonalds dropped them as their #1 egg supplier. Sparboe Farms is the 5th largest egg supplier shell egg producer and marketer in the United States. The conditions that the chickens {who even survive} live in are disgusting! These poor chickens fell victim to living in battery cages, beaten, tortured and live among dead birds, rats and flies. {photo credit: Mercy For Animals}

The courageous MFA undercover investigator’s work is sparking CHANGE! About three hours before the report aired on ABC World News and 20/20 on Friday night, McDonalds  dropped Sparboe Farms as their egg supplier. According to CNN, McDonalds and now Target dropped Sparboe Farms due to animal cruelty. In a perfect world no human would consume eggs however, I think the fact these big businesses are interested in animal cruelty is a step forward. The impact of McDonalds changing egg suppliers will send a message to other egg producers. Sparboe Farms just lost one of their major accounts, a lot of money and major loss of face. Take note egg producers, being cruel to animals WILL hurt your bottom line!
